Why I started Blimeys

I'm the friend everyone messages two days before a birthday: "yaar isko kya gift doon?"

And for years I gave the same answer, because I watched the same mistake on repeat. People buy whatever's cute, expensive, or easy. Then they're hurt when the reaction is a polite "thank you" and nothing more.

Here's the thing I kept saying on my page, and I'll say it here too:

"A gift's value was never in its price. It's in 'how well do I know you.'"

The gifts people actually keep — the ones they point at years later — aren't the expensive ones. They're the ones that made someone go "wait… you remembered that?"

So I went looking for the gift that says that better than anything. And it turned out to be a place.

The town someone grew up in. The city where two people met. The street where a family started its first home. Draw that properly — in their language, in whichever look actually suits their home — and you've made something no amount of money can fake. It says: I know exactly where you come from.

That's Blimeys. One honest idea, made by someone who's tired of watching people gift badly.

No upsells. No junk. Just the gift I'd actually give. ❤️
